During the entire history of Stark Union Church pew owners assisted by people of all faiths have cared for the church and paid ministers. Ladies’ Aid societies and the Community Club have worked hard to raise money for the maintenance and upkeep of the church.

Gifts, memorials and bequests

Gifts, memorials and bequests are planned giving options that allows Stark Union Church the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives. The church appoints the Fundraising Committee the stewardship role to provide oversight of gifts, memorials and bequests to ensure that all contributions are used in accordance with the wishes of the donor(s).

General Definitions

A gift is a sizable donation of personal property. It typically is a one-time contribution, presented by an individual or on behalf of a decedent.

A memorial is a gift to the church in remembrance of a deceased loved one, often for a particular program or function close to the heart of the decedent.

A bequest is a gift by will or testament intended to benefit the religious function of Stark Union Church’s. Charitable bequests may reduce the estate taxes that might be owed on the estate by the decedent.
